SLAM Supergroup Sunday to Mornington's Royal Hotel
By PEARL HQ
Back after a mind blowing Royal debut, SLAM Classic Rock return with their Rock’nRoll collective featuring five hard-hitting musicians who've each built serious careers on Australian stages, coming together to play the kind of hard rock catalogue that doesn't get old. This Sunday July 19, SLAM hit The Royal Hotel in Mornington from 3pm, and best of all, it's free.
The lineup for this one is genuinely impressive. Andy McLean of Horsehead, Zakk Zedras from Chocolate Starfish, Simon Croft (a veteran of the long-running Queen tribute We Will Rock You), Kevin Hunt of Whole Lotta Rosie, and Scott Rice from The Jaynes. Between them they've toured arenas, festival stages, and pubs across the country. That's a shitload of road experience converging on a Sunday arvo in Mornington, not for the faint hearted.
The setlist draws from a broad sweep of classic rock: Lenny Kravitz, Tom Petty, Rod Stewart, Rose Tattoo, The Angels, Van Halen, David Bowie, The Cult, and ZZ Top are all in the mix. Expect big riffs, full-throated vocals, and a room that gets looser as the afternoon rolls on.
The Royal Hotel has long been hailed as the Peninsula’s BIGGEST Sunday Sesh for quality live music. Breathtaking bay views, cold beer, local wines, lunch by the open fire, and a stage that's seen its share of quality live acts make it a natural fit for something like this. SLAM Classic Rock show is the kind of session that turns a quiet Winter Sunday into a monster and talk of the town on Monday. Get ready to ROCK!
