Tasmania’s country rock sensations The Wolfe Brothers are flying high at the moment. They’ve just released a special double disc Live DVD and CD called ‘The Wolfe Brothers Live at CMC Rocks QLD’ and are undertaking a massive national tour stopping along the border at Albury SS&A Club on Friday March 11.
The bands guitarist and lead singer Nick Wolfe says The Wolfe Brothers are passionate about their live shows. “From day one, playing live has always been at the heart of what The Wolfe Brothers are about,” he says. “From the early days of playing the pubs, to the big stages like CMC Rocks QLD, we’ve always prided ourselves on having a great live show, and we’re really excited that we’ve been able to have it finally captured on this DVD and CD. We believe that our fans will be able to chuck on the DVD, crank it loud (highly recommended) and feel a part of the energy we strive to put out on stage, all from the comfort of their lounge room!”
There’s more big news on The Wolfe Brothers horizon as well. Tom Wolfe has announced, on behalf of the band, that they will be spending a fair amount of time living in Nashville in the future. “We will be leaving Australia the day after the last show on Lee’s tour,” he says. “Our management has rented a house for us in Nashville and we will be spending a couple of months writing songs for the next album and play some show case gigs for the American record companies. This is all a part of our dreams turning to reality. It is the next step we have to make to see if our music can make it outside of Australia. It is all very exciting and we are looking forward to having a crack at the American market.”
For the four Tassie lads, it was important for the band to do a special farewell show before they headed off overseas to say thanks to their hometown fans and friends. “Doing a Bon Voyage – Nashville Here We Come farewell party in itself a surreal concept to me,” says guitarist Brodie Rainbird. “If we were not given our air tickets last week, I would be questioning the reality of all this actually happening. But I have my air ticket and it is all bloody happening and we are all so pumped to have a go at taking our music to America. I hope everyone turns up for this Farewell show at the Longley as there is no doubt it is going to go off big time.”
