Soul siren Lisa Faithfull and her band Soul Experience return to Mornington’s Royal Hotel Sunday November 3 with a sultry tribute to the greats including Aretha, Etta, Ella, Chaka Khan and a collection of her favourite funky soul sensations.
A crowd favourite at not only at ‘The Royal’, Lisa Faithfull was the impressive front woman of profile funk outfit Soul Safari and also featured in the recent Nationally touring show Women Of Soul plus countless appearances at our own Winter Music Festival each year. Her larger than life personality pours through her powerful voice and commanding stage presence. Lisa’s voice can channel the rough gutsy sound of Janis Joplin and Etta James, yet can also be as innocent as a young Aretha Franklin – all sometimes within the same song. With a youthful energy that radiates so much joy her live shows feel like a celebration, even when she is singing about social justice and street life. Her voice seems to carry an optimism and lightness that gives even the most heartbreaking ballad a hopeful energy.
Don’t miss this Cup Weekend big band special with Lisa Faithfull & Soul Experience at Mornington’s Royal Hotel Sunday afternoon November 3. Show starts at 8pm with no cover charge.
