ROYAL WELCOME FOR DBT

The Dylan Boyd Trio aka DBT make their thunderous debut tonight at The Royal, packed with plenty of punch and sure to send DB levels off the Richter!  The homegrown heroes featuring singer/guitarist Dylan Boyd, along with power house drummer Karl Lewis (Savage Garden) and bassist Damien Boyd bring a fiery new energy to the Melbourne Blues scene and keep live music fans fans coming back for more.

After clocking up the miles in various original bands, cover bands, tribute bands and rubber bands, the Dylan Boyd Trio’s repertoire spans a huge demographic, in terms of chronology and pure style. Not too often would you hear kick-ass versions of songs from the likes of Peter Gabriel from your average blues/rock trio combo.

Speaking of style and influence, obviously they have your usual shuffles and blues standards in their sets ranging from Clapton to Hendrix, however DBT incorporate some of the more modern players such as John Mayer and Joe Bonamassa. The one thing they love is turning the amp up to 11, and punching each song just that little extra, so don’t be surprised to hear a bit of ZZ Top, Bad Company, Black Crowes and Led Zepplin thrown in for good measure.

Be sure to make it down for some home grown blues and brews tonight Saturday April 22 with the Dylan Boyd Trio The Royal in Mornington. The show starts at 8pm and is a free event. For more details visit www.theroyal.com.au
