THE SOUL OF SAFARI MOTEL

Safari Motel burst onto the scene back in 2012 and quite literally has been exploding ever since. With a big band sound seeped in soul, funk and blues it’s little wonder their mix of feel-good, high energy original funk grooves has earned them a place in the thriving Melbourne music scene as one of the most sought after live acts.

Sassy lead Nicole Nehemia’s voice holds that intensity of range and she projects her voice powerfully. I reckon she could break glass if push came to shove. However, just as easily she can do soft, mellow and sensual lyrics making her perfect as front woman for the band. With the bands combined cool bass licks, edgy lead riffs, groovy keys that glues together with some mighty tight drumming, you can see why they’re hurtling towards stardom fast while leaving fans grasping for more.

Constant demand from loyal fans inspired the Peninsula based group to release their second album Safari Motel Live @The Factory recently to rave reviews. Its sophisticated, sexy sound doesn’t disappoint, especially with the teaser of an original song thrown in the mix entitled Trouble, which ultimately is preparing everyone for their third album consisting of all originals.

Safari Motel have certainly sky rocketed to the upper stratosphere and it ‘aint lookin’ like they’ll be stopping any time soon. Their popularity grows with each performance so expect to hear a lot more from this band.

Catch Safari Motel and their unique blend of five-star soul when they return to Mornington’s Royal Hotel from 3pm on Sunday September 4. For more information visit theroyal.com.au or find Safari Motel on Facebook.
