MISSY HIGGINS PENINSULA PICNIC

Beloved Aussie singer/songwriter Missy Higgins is heading our way in conjunction with special performance at the iconic Hamer Hall alongside Paul Dempsey en-route to Mornington’s Peninsula Picnic in March.

This will be Missy’s first tour since her sold out national run back in late 2014.

“For the whole of this year I’ve been experiencing life as a first time Mum, and it’s been incredible, but I really can’t wait to get out of the house and play a few gigs,” Missy explains. “I’ve actually been writing a lot of songs lately so I’m looking forward to trying a few of them out at these gigs along with all the others of course. Either way, it’ll be nice to sing something other than ‘Twinkle Twinkle Little Star’ for a change!”

Missy opens her exclusive run of shows at Sydney’s Taronga Zoo for the iconic Twilight at Taronga concert series on Saturday 13 February in a special Valentine’s weekend performance under the stars on the intimate concert lawns at Taronga.

From there, Missy will head to her hometown of Melbourne to perform a one-off concert at Hamer Hall on Wednesday 17 February.  This will be somewhat of a homecoming for Missy, marking her first hometown concert with her band since the birth of her beautiful baby boy last January.

Missy will also headline some handpicked late summer festivals around Australia, including a rare ‘unplugged’ set at Riverboats Music in Echuca on Sunday 21st February and our very own Peninsula Picnic in Mornington on Sunday 2oth March.

Peninsula Picnic is Mornington Peninsula’s most extensive food, wine and music gathering that returns for its second year boasting a bigger line-up, a larger site, and even more great gourmet restaurants, decadent wineries, fresh local produce and quality artisan wares than before..

Roll out your picnic rug and relax to the sweet sounds of Missy Higgins, Powderfinger’s Darren Middleton, Kim Churchill, Timberwolf and Ruby Whiting whilst discovering the best food, wine and produce from the Peninsula’s favourites.

With a country harvest atmosphere, Peninsula Picnic takes place over one unique day in the leafy and sea-salted surrounds of Mornington Racecourse, and is the recipe for that perfect regional escape or family day out.

The inaugural Peninsula Picnic sold out and with a bigger line-up in 2016 make sure you get your tickets early!
