This weekend Side Street welcomes back Geisha front man and Footy Show vocal legend Chris Doheny. If you’re in to great music and after some tasty food to share with friends, a fine wine, boutique beer or house-infused vodkas then Side Street is right up your alley!
As lead singer for Australian band Geisha in the 80’s and signed with EMI Records for the World, Chris Doheny and his band scored 8 Australian Top 10 singles with “Kabuki” reaching Number 1. After the break up of Geisha Chris released his first solo single in 1994, ‘More Than A Game’. It began as the theme to Channel Nine’s acclaimed AFL Footy Show which began that same year. Twenty one years later it remains arguably the longest running unchanged theme for an Australian television show….and kicks off the perfect soundtrack for footy finals fever!
“We wanted to create a place in Mordy for everyone to enjoy some food and a drink in a more relaxed environment…something…a little bit out of the ordinary” said manager Marc Crozier …and recent crowds flocking to Side Street agree!
Side Street is located at 501 Main Street Mordialloc and offers everything you need for a cosy kick back, a vodka sing-a-long or a footy frothy this Sunday 6th March with Chris Doheny from 5pm.
