The biggest free music event on the Peninsula is back and bigger than ever!  Kicking off Friday February 19 and running across the whole weekend, the Westernport Festival will see the picturesque Hastings Foreshore come to life with fireworks, freestyle motocross displays, championship wrestling, carnival rides, car shows, aircraft acrobatics and three days of free ‘live and local music’ from an amazing 21 bands presented on the RPP-FM stage.

Launching with live music on the Friday, Westfest in conjunction with Impact Freeza presents a young, loud, live and local Battle Of The Bands leading in to an exciting Saturday program featuring The Australian AC/DC Show: Dirty Deeds and the super colourful Totally 80’s concept before traditional night time fireworks extravaganza.  There’s plenty to squeeze in plus a huge roster of local artists including Demolition Squad, Elusive, Wineshank, Grousehouse, Andy Phillips & The Cadillac Walk plus many more.

The traditions continue Sunday morning with the festival favourite car show presenting up to 500 shining street rods and classics, combined with a simply Sunday style music program of prominent local artists featuring Safari Motel, The Jackson Four, Transition and The Balnarring Musos.

With free entry and the majority of featured events free of charge, the Westernport Festival is a fun and relaxed way to spend your weekend and discover what the Hastings community and Westernport have to offer.

This year’s festival theme commemorates the 950th anniversary of the Battle of Hastings so grab your shield and your Viking hat and join in for what is going to be a great weekend of local entertainment, activities and community spirit!

The Westernport festival is held on the Hastings Foreshore from Friday February 19 and concludes on the Sunday. For more information about the event including a full music line up head to www.westernportfestival.org.au
