Davey’s Sunday Soultrain is back with all the big names in blues, soul and rock ‘n roll forming a line-up that will make your ears water.
One such big name making his return to Davey’s fresh from a North Queensland tour with the Screaming Jets is the legendary Jimi Hocking. Jimi and his power combo Blues Machine make their return to Soultrain this Sunday November 1, just in time for a long style weekend.
When Jimi comes to town you can expect a singer, songwriter, guitarist and all round musician of the highest caliber who is said to be the electric love child of T-Bone Walker, BB King and Jimi Hendrix. His combination of high speed picking and blues bends on a discography that boasts 15 albums have earned Jimi the reputation he has today. On stage he is in his element, strutting with his band and pulling all the classic stunts which make him one of the must see acts in blues today.
A tough act to follow but if anyone can its one of the most exciting newcomers in Blues, Dylan Boyd Trio on Sunday November 8. Born in a back carriage of Sunday Soultrain, Bayside local Dylan Boyd has earned a vast and loyal audience since making his debut at Davey’s only last year. Dylan’s powerful guitar grooves and passionate interpretations of blues and rock classics along his vibrant showmanship keep audiences spellbound and coming back week after week.
There’s a huge program ahead for Sunday Soultrain in the remainder of 2015 including Geoff Achison, Fiona Boyes, Dirty Boogie, Rosie & The Mighty Kings and the mighty Chris Wilson in a December Soultrain finale.
