The Experience
45th anniversary of the passing of Jimi Hendrix
Hendrix re-wrote the guitar playing rule book during a span of three studio, one live album and many ground breaking live performances and the world was shocked by his sudden death on September 18, 1970 at the age of 27. To honour the 45th anniversary of his passing, RHR Music will be hosting two Jimi Hendrix extravaganzas at two of Victoria’s world famous venues – Cherry Bar in AC/DC Lane, Melbourne and Geelong’s Barwon Club.
Hendrix devotee and guitarist extraordinaire Tim Henwood (Palace Of The King, The Androids, Superjesus, Rogue Traders) will be joined on stage by crack rhythm section Dave Stevens (Son of Rock God Bon Scott) & Michael Stangel (American Classics). The night will be a celebration of Hendrix hits and songs for the true Hendrix fans. We will remember the brilliance of a man who shone for a tragically brief period in the late sixties yet cast the die for Rock and Roll guitar playing.
This fantastic gig will feature special guests Nat Allison and The Touch Response.
