GUESTS GET ON BOARD FOR BADLOVES

Many magical things have happened during Michael Spiby’s musical life. And after fronting one of our most-loved bands, The Badloves, Michael is now focusing full-time on his solo career. Thursday April 23 Michael Spiby takes us on a journey back to where it all started. Together with his band Micheal performs the Badloves Get On Board album in a treat for fans, some only lucky enough to catch a rare solo performance by Michael in years.  Recent news of a trio version evolving for some interstate shows attracted huge praise…so we’re tipping some surprise additions to the band and a home coming exclusive!

The Badloves released just two studio albums – 1993 s Get On Board (which spent 69 weeks on the charts, peaking at number five) and 1995 s Holy Roadside (which went gold and reached number 14). Michael remembers the band fondly, though adds: “Those years were so intense; it’s a bit of a blur. We just didn’t have any balance in our lives.”

Michael continues to search for meaning in his music, relishing the joy of creation.

It’s an exciting time for one of Australia’s finest singers and songwriters.

“For me, it’s all about getting into that headspace – daydreaming, creating,” Michael says, “knowing that something will eventually be worthwhile in the real world.”

It’s all about the magic things says Michael, and magic is on the cards as Michael and his mystery band perform the Badloves Get On Board album this Thursday at Davey’s in Frankston from 8pm. Tickets available from venue or Moshtix.
