BEACHSIDE SUMMER YOUTH FEST
Bayside City Council are gearing up for another Beachside Summer Youth Festival, and want you to help! Are you interested in organising events? Do you have a creative flair? Keen to work in a team to plan and run the next Beachside Summer Youth Festival? Then Bayside City Council want to hear from you! Joining the committee will entail monthly meetings at first on Mondays, but will be more frequent in the lead up to the big day, which is scheduled for 2015.

FRESH HEADLINERS
Frankston Freeza Committee, Fresh Entertainment, have now announced the competing bands and headlining acts for its annual Battle of the Bands heats. Fresh Entertainment will host two heats this year, the first to be held on July 12, headlined by Beautiful Beasts, with Shoot the Messenger, DTSD, Cryptic Jim, Melanie Grace, Pocketwatch Knight, and Wild Nite, set to compete. On July 19, the second heat will take place, with Swim Through Seasons headlining, and Static Revenue, The Escapist, Cyprus, Flesh of the Earth, and Along Shorelines competing. Cash and prizes are up for grabs, and winners will proceed to the regional finals!

These heats will be held at the Seaford Community Hall where past battles have been held, with winners including Myyth, The Fuzzbirds, Blackwater Riff and Astral Flight. Tickets are $10 at the door, and there are strictly no passouts. These are all ages drug, alcohol and smoke free events.

BAYSIDE BATTLE-RS
Bayside Youth Services and the Boombox FReeZA committee have announced the competing bands in the lead up to their annual Battle of the Bands. Competing at this year’s battle will be Groove Platoon, Attack at Greenwood, the String Theory, Beneath the Lies and Moss. Bayside are offering the audience a mix of genres on the night, with these incredibly talented bands performing funk, indie, post-hardcore, Latin, and more! With Yung Phily announced as MC for the event, there will also be extra entertainment such as prizes, give-aways, and a fully stocked canteen.

The battle will be held on August 15 at the Brighton Town Hall, where multiple artists will battle for the chance to progress through all battle rounds in order to win the final FReeZA Push Start Battle of the Bands. Also on the night will be special guest performers who are yet to be announced, but keep an eye out on the Bayside Youth Services page, www.bayside.vic.gov.au/youth.

LIGHT THE FUSE ON AN AUGUST BATTLE
Kingston Youth Services’ ‘Fuse Productions’ are hosting another tremendously entertaining Battle of the Bands this August. On August 1st, five bands will compete for the chance to progress through to the regional and state finals to win the statewide Battle of the Bands competition. Bands that will be competing at the Kingston Battle are The Fuse, Groove Platoon, Attack at Greenwood, HCC Glee, and Her Majesty’s Hangover. There are multiple prizes up for grabs for the winning bands, and an exciting headliner will be announced shortly. Doors will open at 5:30pm at the Kingston Town Hall on Nepean Hwy in Moorabbin. Keep an eye out on the fuse productions Facebook page for the headliner to be announced.

RISE OF BROTALITY HITS FRANKSTON
Frankston’s Fresh Entertainment, along with Triple J’s Short.Fast.Loud, Blunt Mag, Monster Energy, and Impericon, present the Frankston AA show for the Rise of Brotality Tour this September! Scheduled to perform at the Frankston Mechanics Hall on the 18th of September are I Killed the Prom Queen, The Ghost Inside, In Hearts Wake, and more! This is a massive show for Fresh Entertainment, which is hosting America’s The Ghost Inside as part of their national Australian tour. The doors will open at 5.30pm at the Frankston Mechanics Hall.
