If you’re after some tasty food to share with friends, accompanied by a glass of regional Victorian wine, boutique beer or house-made infused vodkas, then Mordialloc’s newest hidden treasure is right up your alley! This weekend Side Street adds live music for a little ‘laneway festival’ flare featuring The Footy Show’s Chris Doheny performing acoustic classics and some signature footy faves this Sunday from 6pm.
As lead singer for Australian band Geisha in the 80’s and signed with EMI Records for the World, Chris Doheny and his band scored 8 Australian Top 10 singles with “Kabuki” reaching Number 1. After the break up of Geisha Chris released his first solo single in 1994, ‘More Than A Game’. It began as the theme to Channel Nine’s acclaimed AFL Footy Show which began that same year. Twenty one years later it remains arguably the longest running unchanged theme for an Australian television show….and kicks off the perfect soundtrack for footy finals fever!
“We wanted to create a place in Mordy for everyone to enjoy some food and a drink in a more relaxed environment…something…a little bit out of the ordinary” said manager Marc Crozier …and recent crowds flocking to Sidestreet agree!
Side Street is located at 501 Main Street Mordialloc and offers everything you need for a cosy kick back, a vodka sing-a-long or a footy frothy this Sunday 20th September with Chris Doheny from 4pm.
