Mornington Peninsula’s live music scene will come together with The Music Summit 2015.  This inaugural event will be hosted by the hilarious Brian Nankervis from TV’s RocKwiz.

The Mornington Peninsula Music Network Inc in conjunction with Mornington Peninsula Shire & Music Victoria are behind the Music Summit, to be held at Merchant Lane (formerly The Social) from 5pm on June 3.

Lisa Walton caught up with Brian Nankervis, writer, producer, actor and natural comic. Brian is the co-creator and adjudicator of the hugely successful music trivia show, RocKwiz.  “I’m excited about the Music Summit in Mornington on June 3,” said Brian.  “It’s so important for emerging musicians and bands to come together, to discuss the industry and it’s ups and downs, and to hear opinions and stories from those who have some experience,” he continued.  “It’s actually really important for established artists as well … you’re never too old or experienced to learn something new!”

Guests will participate in a panel discussion and Q&A with Music Victoria, the Live Music Office, Sydney, APRA/AMCOS, local producer Ian Pav and local musician Marty Nelson Williams.  Nankervis is a seasoned showman and, with his comedic stylings, the event promises to be a hoot.  “I’ll be moderating the panel, making sure everyone is involved and who knows, there might even be a little music quiz to get things rocking.”  “I am looking forward to meeting people involved in the music scene on the Mornington Peninsula.”

After the panel discussion, chill out to the sounds of young talent and recent winner of the Voice of Frankston, Fox de Roche, rising artist Jude Perl and the Pete Kaighan Trio.
