Sadly the Seaford Hotel’s icon Clover Bar will be closed for renovations soon, but not to worry, it’s making way for a newer, shinier, live music room, double the size in its place, and they plan to host a kick ass party to give it a good send off.
The Retro Reno Party on January 16 promises to bring you all the nostalgia you can handle with memories of those crazy, 90s band room nights a certain generation struggle to remember. One of the acts synonymous with those nights is Rob and Tarquin AKA Party Of Two who will be providing live entertainment on the night.
Rob and Tarquin were (and still are) the best entertainment around during the 90s taking up residencies at some of the biggest local venues and filling them to capacity. Pioneers of using live recorded bass and drums to create a full band sound, they maintain the highest energy rooms and create the biggest all in sing-along sessions complete with DJ’s and full show-band style audio and lighting.
Still performing to capacity crowds at Mornington’s Bay Hotel on Saturday’s, Rob & Tarquin built the entertainment culture around many of todays larger local venues in earlier years including Davey’s, performing there 6 years after launching as the first Davey’s live act to a base crowd of 20 and launching it to capacity over the years to come.
So who better to give an iconic bar of a generation its swan song than an act that rocked Friday’s in the main room for most of the 90’s catering up to 400-500 every week. Rob and Tarquin will no doubt make you re-live those hazy nights with special guest DJ Jords playing all the hits of the 80s and 90s… and perhaps, bring a tear or two. No? Too much? OK.
Bring your hanky’s and your dancing shoes to the Seaford Hotel, 362 Frankston-Dandenong Rd, Seaford, January 16. Free entry all night, $500 cash door prize give away, 9pm til late. More info go to theseaford.com.au.
