Thrill On The Hill

Every year I think to myself, this show just can’t get any better, but it always does. Art Red Hill is an evolving show; that’s what keeps it interesting. The Montalto Principal’s Lounge showcased diverse Aboriginal art with the added bonus of including this year’s judge, the incomparable Susan McCulloch and her delightful daughter Emily McCulloch Childs on hand to answer questions. Red Hill Consolidated School Mum, Jenny Riddle won Best Visual Image with her poignant Peninsula landscape Eastern Grey Rise. The schoolchildren’s work on artists’ palettes was spectacular and the addition of street art was excellent. Instrumental guitar, imbibing Red Hill Brewery Ale and rubbing elbows with fascinating artists and keen patrons was a true delight on a gorgeous night. All work was beautifully displayed and the gift shop just keeps getting better. Can’t wait to see next year’s show.
