When we cover music, we generally seem to gloss over those people who make the band who they are, be it managers, publicists or in this case, a majestic beard behind a camera. Owen Jones is the man behind the camera, behind Digital Beard Photography and producing some of the greatest shots and fans like me.  Jones has an incredible talent for catching those magic moments of connection between artists and their fans , like the moment his art captured mine.  Jones was happy to Take 10 with us here at PEARL. We hope to feature more of his work in our alternate music sections!

    2. FAVOURITE SUPER HERO.
    Thor, hands down.
    3. FIRST CONCERT YOU WENT TO.
Sweat Fest 2008. Parkway Drive, Suicide Silence, A Day To Remember, The Acacia Strain and Confession. Yeah, that was the line-up, and it was sick.
    4. WHAT POPULAR SONG NEEDS TO BE COVERED?
I think most of them have been done haven’t they? But there needs to be a Metalcore version of Darude’s ‘Sandstorm’
    5. CATCH PHRASE?
    “Oi, mate…”
    6. FAVOURITE VIDEO GAME
Burnout 3. That soundtrack is ace.
    7. PERSONAL FAVOURITE SONG AT THE MOMENT.
“(Can’t Live Without Your) Love and Affection” – Nelson. Cheesy 90’s glam rock. Perfection.

Biggest Taylor Swift fan you’ll ever meet. Not even lying.
    9. WHAT DO YOU WANT TO ACHIEVE IN YOUR CAREER
What any photographer wants to. Tour the country/world with bands. See new places. Get a good reputation and having my work seen by as many people as possible.
    10. WHO DO YOU FEEL IS DOING THE BEST IN THE SCENE RIGHT NOW?
Earthender. Not many bands can pull of a name change and a fresh start, but they have and they will take over the world.
