Queenscliff Music Festival Announces 2014 Lineup

EARLY BIRD TICKETS SOLD OUT | GENERAL RELEASE TICKETS ON SALE NOW

Queenscliff Music Festival 2014 has a veritable banquet of performers set to visit the charming coastal town this late Spring: ARIA Charting four piece The Jezabels, world renowned multi-instrumentalist and VIC coast local Xavier Rudd,much-loved folk rock group The Waifs, queen of Australian country music Kasey Chambers, Australian legends The Church, a meeting of minds in Perfect Tripodfeat. Tripod and Eddie Perfect, 2013 Grammy nominees Hiatus Kaiyote with their experimental soul grooves, and bluesy loop pop sounds from D.D. Dumboaka Oliver Hugh Perry.

These names are a taste of more headline names to come, including international acts who will once again grace the QMF stages after a distinctly Australian line up over the past few years, something Festival Director Andrew Orvis sees as a complement to the bill: “We are extremely proud to present the best in Australian music each year, but in 2014 we’ve hand-picked  a few international acts to come and add a dash of international flavour to the Queenscliff experience.”With a reputation for providing an intimate festival experience that threads its way through the quaint little venues in town, the festival grounds and gorgeous seaside views all within minutes walking distance, it is no wonder that a number of last year’s performers proclaimed it the “best festival ever”, and punters hastily re-booked for 2014 before any names were announced or even Early Bird tickets went on sale. Early Bird tickets for the November 28-30 festival sold out and broke all previous records. Demand is clearly high for QMF tickets in 2014.

Perhaps it’s the choice of cosy houses to retreat to or nearby camping, the cafes and restaurants in town or the expanding selection of gourmet food and beverage options inside the festival grounds, or the symbiosis between QMF and the Queenscliff community who together take pride in shining a light on the physical beauty and open-armed hospitality of their town. Whatever it is, Queenscliff is a festival to be experienced with all five senses and not a weekend of being cattle prodded around cramped stages.

Newly appointed Festival Director Andrew Orvis was born and raised in Queenscliff and has attended each and every one of the 17 festivals to date (including programming 2008-2012 and working as part of the festival team for the last eight years), and he has been busy scouting out a selection of quality contemporary acts to join in the growing list of satisfied Queenscliff Alumni.Festival number 18 is a work of art in progress so stay tuned for the next announcement (four more still to come)!
